THE HARMONY TEST
At every audition, we’ll take a few minutes to sing a simple harmony together – the song, Happy Birthday. This isn’t a trick, and it isn’t a test of your training. It’s the most important thing we need from a chorus: the ability to listen and match what you hear.
You don’t need to read music. You don’t need a formal background. We’re genuinely singing with you, not judging you from across a table. If you can hold a part when someone sings another note nearby, you have exactly what we’re looking for.
ROLES AVAILABLE: YESTERDAY ONCE MORE
We are seeking 8 singers of any gender and/or background who are comfortable performing popular music from the 1960s and 1970s. All performers should be over 18 years of age. No formal training required — but a strong voice and the ability to blend in a group are essential.
ROLES AVAILABLE: MY FAIR LADY
Characters in My Fair Lady retain their written gender identities as part of the story. That said, we warmly encourage people of all gender identities to audition for any role — casting decisions will be based on fit for the production. All performers should be over 14 years of age. While ages are not listed for lead roles, we will be looking for age-appropriate performers.
Eliza Doolittle (Lead / soprano): The spirited Cockney flower girl at the heart of the story, who transforms through Higgins’ lessons while finding her own voice. Requires strong vocal range and physical transformation.
Henry Higgins (Lead / baritone): Brilliant, arrogant, and oblivious to his own feelings. The phonetics professor who bets he can pass Eliza off as a duchess. Comic and complex in equal measure.
Freddy Eynsford-Hill (Supporting / tenor): The besotted young suitor utterly captivated by Eliza. Requires charm and a strong tenor voice.
Colonel Pickering (Supporting): Higgins’ warm-hearted and gentlemanly colleague who treats Eliza with genuine kindness and dignity throughout.
Alfred P. Doolittle (Supporting / baritone): Eliza’s cheerfully roguish father — a dustman with no moral scruples and an infectious zest for life. Showstopping comic role.
Mrs. Higgins (Supporting): Henry’s sharp, elegant, and quietly disapproving mother. Commands every scene she enters with wit and authority.
Mrs. Pearce (Supporting): Higgins’ sensible, long-suffering housekeeper — and Eliza’s first advocate in the household.
Ensemble (Ensemble): Cockney neighbours, Ascot guests, ballroom dancers, and more. Full role breakdown will be shared at auditions.
