Mission Statement

Theatre Aurora's Youth Program is dedicated to providing the highest quality of theatrical training to young people in a fun, inclusive, and nurturing environment. Taught by drama educators in the performing arts community, our innovative curriculum aims to enrich today’s youth by providing them with creative opportunities that aid in the development of self-awareness, critical thinking, team building, and personal growth.

Fall Program 2022

Junior Program (8-10 years of age)

Saturdays, September 17, 2022 - December 17, 2022

10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Theme: Mythology

Senior Program (11-14 years of age)

Saturdays, September 17, 2022 - December 17, 2022

1:30p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Theme: Theatre for Inclusivity and Equity

Performance/Showcase: December 10, 2022 (Junior and Senior Programs)

Participants will explore a variety of drama and theatre techniques including improvisation, character development, storytelling, voice and movement, culminating in the performance of a scripted work. They will also have the opportunity to learn about the vital behind- the- scenes roles, such as lighting and sound, stage managing, set design, and directing. Opportunities will be provided for the students to observe rehearsals of our mainstage productions and participate in Q & A sessions with the cast and crew of those productions.

Winter/Spring Program 2023

Senior Program (11-14 years of age)

January 14, 2023 - May 13, 2023

Theme: Monsters and Villains

Junior Program (8-10 years of age)

Theme: Fairy Tales - Retold!
