TA Youth Summer Program B.png

Theatre Aurora's Youth Program is run by trained theatre practitioners, all who have a passion for theatre, performance, and teaching.

Curriculum is based on interest and skill level of the participants. We welcome youth who are both new to the theatre and veterans of the stage to join our program.

Registration fees include all program supplies, a free junior membership at Theatre Aurora (allowing the youth to work on other productions and receive theatre information). Due to the COVID-19 pandemic main-stage productions will NOT be available for youth at this time.
When in the theatre the program will follow all protocols from the Province of Ontario and York Region Health with regards to opening and maintaining the space, and how to keep the students, educators and everyone safe.

  • Mandatory mask policy in place

  • Safe Social Distancing while in the theatre

  • Increased hand washing/use of sanitizer by students and educators

  • Increased cleaning of the theatre space

  • Health checks before entering the building

  • Continued communication between parents/guardians, students and the Director of Youth Programming

  • When in the theatre lunch, snack time (x2) and some lessons will be held outdoors when weather is permitting.

This is the first year we have offered the Young Company a full Summer Program. Many of our students have asked to continue their theatre education with us during the Summer and we are excited to offer evening classes so those with day jobs can still attend.

For this session the Young Company students will be working on a unique program by Adeen that has students working on creating characters and using safe methods to learn and grow with those characters through the rehearsal and development phase to the final performance. Students will work on both monologues and radio plays during these sessions.

*Cohorts will be created when we enter the theatre with the program
